Stansted Airport Car Parking

There are 3 types of parking available at Stansted.

Onsite - This is managed by NCP and consists of the Short Stay car park. Currently there is major redevelopment works being carried out and subsequently at least half of the available zones are closed. Rather inconveniently these are the ones nearest the Terminal. The zone's left reasonably unaffected are Zone A, F and G. These are located at the extremes of the short stay and are approximately some 300 to 500 meter's walk. Also the car park is closed on an adhoc basis completely for a number of hours, all traffic is then sent to the Mid stay car park. The cost is £20.50 per day are part day after day 1.
** An update ** The works that commenced in January are now coming to an end in the short stay car park. The zones have been renamed, ( Red Zone, Green zone, Fast track, Blue Zone, Orange Zone) There has been some removal of hedges etc and reconfiguring the directional flow as well as new entrances. New barrier equipment has been installed to all zones of the car parks. This is all great news, but obviously there is some bad news!! The prices have dramatically changed. There is no longer ANY free parking / waiting for pick ups. The minimum charge is now £1.00 for the "over populated" pick up zone, with 3 - 12 hours costing £30.00 and rising to £40.00 for every 24 hours. The hourly and daily charges vary depending on zone so be weary when driving in as some zones are now a MINIMUM of £14.00 as soon as you drive in and up to £40.00 per day!!

Onsite but a distance from the terminal- Managed by Pink Elephant the Mid-stay and Long-stay are located 3 miles and 6 miles from the Terminal. Both have minimum stay charges and require a bus transfer to the Terminal. The car parks suggested additional time for transfers are 20 minutes for the Mid-stay and 45 minutes for the Long-stay.
Offsite - There are several choices available. the average cost is upwards of £7.00 per day. All involve a bus journey of varying times, up to 25 minutes. If choosing this option ensure you check how far away they are, if the transfer is on demand or at set times and also will your vehicle be moved after you have parked it, if so where, why and are they insured or using your insurance!
Meet & Greet - Obviously we would recommend the Meet and Greet service supplied by us. There are many added advantages to Meet and Greet parking amongst them are;
Drive right up to the Airport on departure.
No waiting for buses in the rain.
No queuing.
No lost keys on your return.
No flat battery on your return.
Depending on duration of stay often cheaper than off-site parking and definitely much cheaper than on-site.

Meet and Greet choices

Points to bear in mind when choosing a Meet & greet service are;
Are they fully insured for Road Risks for the value of your vehicle? - There are many different levels of value. Crown Parking policy covers vehicles up to £98,000 each vehicle.
Will your vehicle be parked in a car park made of tarmac/ concrete? Silly question? Not really as there are "car parks" who use farmers fields!
Are all of their drivers over 29? We will not employ any young inexperienced drivers.
Are they open 24 hours? We are, but the majority open 06.00 until 23.59, others charge a additional premium. With Stansted Crown Parking we charge the same prices no matter when you need to drop off or collect your vehicle.
Can they offer indoor storage? This facility is great during the winter months or if you do not wish your vehicle to be exposed to the elements.
